Clinical Trial Associate (CTA) – Contract
Location: Remote (U.S.-based)

Summary
The Clinical Trial Associate (CTA) provides essential administrative and project-tracking support to one or more clinical trial teams. This role partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders to support clinical trial activities from site start-up through close-out, ensuring all activities are conducted in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and applicable regulations.
This position will support gene therapy clinical trials in ultra-rare diseases, offering exposure to innovative science in a highly collaborative, patient-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to clinical trial execution, including development, maintenance, and formatting of study documents; review and reconciliation of study-specific information; coordination of meetings; preparation and distribution of meeting minutes; and maintenance of study team contact lists
- File and maintain essential study documentation within the electronic Trial Master File (eTMF); support TMF completeness reviews; maintain essential documents lists; and serve as a primary study contact for Records Management, as assigned
- Track and maintain accurate study-specific data and dashboards using databases, spreadsheets, and internal systems, including Ultragenyx’s Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS), UltraTrial
- Support communication and tracking of information between internal study teams, investigational sites, and external partners such as CROs and vendors for defined tasks
- Assist with vendor coordination and management activities as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent curriculum required; preference for a scientific or healthcare-related discipline
- No prior industry experience required, though relevant academic or research experience is beneficial
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with team members and management
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining effective communication
- Willingness to travel approximately 10% as needed
